Position Summary:
The Senior Vice President Category Management & Sourcing will be responsible for building and leading category and assortment strategies, strategic sourcing, as well as new product development in order for the company to meet their customer’s dynamic needs. This executive will lead a category management transformation that will evolve national and local product assortments and influence financial results. This will include responsibility for increasing sales and profitability by category through leveraging insights and strategically planning to drive the right assortment, pricing, new product development, promotion of items and effective sourcing.
The executive is responsible for Grocery & Redistribution (Foodservice) category and sourcing performance with $4 billion in revenue. The category management function is tasked with using local, regional and national customer insights to guide key product assortment and pricing decisions.
The Senior Vice President will have broad knowledge of category management, assortment strategy and sourcing. The executive will currently be in a senior leadership role, overseeing a sizeable organization, likely as the head of Category Management, Chief Merchant or head of Sourcing, in which case the executive must have cross functional experience in the Merchandising/Category Management function.
