Assistant Vice President, Property Claims

POSITION SUMMARY

The Assistant Vice President of Property Claims will report to the Chief Claims Officer and lead a 100+ person organization spanning desk claims, large loss, catastrophe and auto physical damage (APD). This role carries end-to-end accountability for property claims performance across multiple jurisdictions, with a strong emphasis on catastrophe readiness, field operations and vendor network effectiveness. The AVP will partner closely with underwriting, claims legal and executive leadership to ensure claims practices deliver both strong policyholder outcomes and disciplined financial performance. Early priorities include strengthening catastrophe response, driving consistency across teams and regions and expanding the use of data and analytics to improve decision-making and outcomes.

The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of progressive property claims experience within a P&C carrier, including leadership of multi-layered teams. Deep expertise across the full property claims lifecycle is essential, including catastrophe response, large loss, field adjusting and APD. Experience operating within a national or super-regional environment is preferred given the scale and complexity. This leader should combine strong operational discipline with an analytical mindset and the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
