Our client is a well-known regional property and casualty insurance provider. |
In response to an evolving insurance landscape and competitive pressures, our client recognized the need to enhance its operational capabilities and pursue strategic growth. After rehabilitating its book of business and exiting unprofitable markets, the company aimed to expand geographically and diversify its product offerings, including specialty and reinsurance lines. This strategic pivot required a new leadership role focused on driving profitable growth and transforming the organization into two distinct underwriting entities.
The Chief Insurance Operations Officer leads underwriting performance, sales and distribution strategies in alignment with the company’s growth objectives. This executive develops the company’s assumed reinsurance division, drives disciplined underwriting practices, and fosters a culture of technical excellence and accountability. The role defines and executes revenue and distribution strategies that strengthen the company’s competitive position within independent agency and broker channels, while overseeing operational performance for scalability and efficiency and participating in enterprise leadership, governance and strategic decision-making.
Our placement brings a well-rounded insurance background spanning underwriting, reinsurance, carrier operations, distribution and executive leadership. They have led both ceded and assumed reinsurance activities at a growth-oriented specialty carrier and built a new reinsurance business unit from the ground up, demonstrating a proven ability to identify opportunities, develop business strategies and create new capabilities. Their earlier roles across national carriers, mutual insurers and brokerage have given them broad perspective on how underwriting, claims, finance, distribution and risk management work together to drive profitable growth.
