The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) will lead the global medical underwriting strategy, driving innovation and consistency across international markets. Reporting to the Global Chief Underwriting Officer and overseeing a team that includes two Medical Directors, this executive will play a pivotal role in integrating clinical science, data analytics, and emerging technologies to enhance risk assessment and improve customer experience. The CMO will serve as a key voice in shaping underwriting standards and aligning medical best practices across regions.
The ideal candidate will bring 10–15+ years of experience in clinical practice and/or insurance medicine, with a strong track record of leadership within global or regional underwriting environments. A deep understanding of life insurance risk, knowledge of international markets (particularly Asia, Canada, and the U.S.), and experience contributing to underwriting manuals are highly desirable. Strong analytical, communication, and cross-cultural collaboration skills are essential. A Medical Doctor (MD) degree is required, with board certification and Insurance Medicine credentials considered strong assets. Language proficiency beyond English is a plus.
