The Chief Distribution Officer (CDO) is responsible for developing and leading a modern, hybrid career agency system, supplemented by the BGA channel. This role requires strategic vision, cross-functional collaboration, data-driven analytics, and leadership in sales compensation, producer recruiting, development, and training. The company is seeking a new Chief Distribution Officer to impact three growth vectors: organic growth, mergers, and transformation. While the company has experienced success with organic growth, the company needs to fundamentally change the distribution model. This includes rebuilding the distribution system from the ground up, particularly to serve its target market in rural America—towns with 20,000 or fewer people that aren’t connected to big cities.
Our placement brings more than 10 years of experience in a career agency system, with a proven track record of managing and growing a career-agent distribution channel. They currently lead a network of roughly 200 agents, a majority of whom rank among the channel’s top performers. With deep experience in rural markets, they bring a hands-on, community-based approach to building producer groups and developing high-performing agents, along with a willingness to travel extensively across primarily rural markets in the Midwest and Central Plains.
