SITUATION ANALYSIS
A specialty manufacturing platform within a large diversified industrial company established a newly created Vice President of Operations role as part of a deliberate succession strategy. Leadership identified the need for a hands-on operational executive to scale capacity, reduce lead times and lead the transition from a craft-based manufacturing model to a scalable flow-line operating environment, while preserving strong margins and an established production culture.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Vice President, Operations holds full accountability for safety, quality, delivery, productivity and cost across a multi-facility manufacturing operation, reporting to the President of the business platform. The role drives capacity expansion, throughput improvement and frontline leadership development while leading the manufacturing model transition. Beyond immediate operational responsibilities, the position carries an enterprise dimension, with the expectation that the executive will build organizational bench strength and develop into a candidate for larger operations leadership roles across the broader corporate platform.
SUCCESSFUL PLACEMENT
Our placement brings more than 15 years of manufacturing and operations leadership experience across complex, multi-site industrial environments. He most recently served as Senior Vice President of Manufacturing Americas for a global manufacturer of heat exchange solutions with responsibility for approximately $900M in regional revenue across three manufacturing plants and four service operations. In this role, he drove operational transformation through lean manufacturing, KPI alignment, productivity improvement and supply chain optimization while significantly improving EBITA performance and reducing OSHA recordable injury rates by approximately 50% through a safety-first culture. Earlier leadership roles included operational integrations, facility turnarounds and advanced manufacturing initiatives across large-scale industrial organizations, demonstrating a strong track record of leading through change and building high-performing teams.
