Our client is a leading specialty food manufacturer with a growing multi-site operation.

Situation Analysis

Recently, our client reached a pivotal point after uniting several regional brands and pursuing further acquisitions, which expanded both its range and its footprint. That growth called for a more cohesive and proactive approach to innovation and product development. The need became clear for a dedicated executive to lead culinary and innovation and to bring the newly combined business under one strategy.

Key Responsibilities

The Head of Research & Development leads the innovation agenda and guides the R&D organization and its commercialization strategy. The role sets priorities from customer insight and market trends, shifting the business toward a proactive model of product development from concept through launch. Serving as a customer-facing leader, the Head of Research & Development also builds R&D capability, oversees marketing support and integrates innovation across acquisitions.

Successful Placement

Our placement is an accomplished R&D and innovation leader with more than two decades in the food industry and deep expertise in bakery science. Across progressively senior roles, they set innovation agendas, guided products from concept through launch and built pipelines from consumer insight. They led R&D across multiple regions, integrated an acquired portfolio and partnered closely across marketing, culinary and manufacturing, pairing technical depth with commercial orientation.
