Position Summary
The Chief Operating Officer will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, partnering closely with the CEO to translate strategic priorities into disciplined execution and measurable results. The role will provide enterprise-wide oversight across commercial operations, procurement, information technology, retail operations, quality, customer service, transportation and other critical functions. A central priority will be strengthening the company’s highly perishable supply chain across sourcing, seasonality, product quality, inventory, distribution and service levels while improving operating efficiency and profitability.
The ideal candidate will bring 10+ years of progressive operational leadership experience in food distribution, wholesale grocery, foodservice distribution or another complex perishable products environment. They should have broad expertise across procurement, sourcing, inventory, warehousing, transportation, distribution and customer service, with experience leading multi location operations and managing strategic supplier relationships. Strong financial and business acumen, including experience with budgeting, forecasting, capital planning and performance management, will be important. The successful candidate will be a visible, hands-on leader with strong executive presence who can develop functional leaders, challenge established practices, drive sustainable process improvements and create a culture of accountability, urgency and continuous improvement.
