Chief Actuary

Multi-Billion Dollar Health Plan

The Chief Actuary will report to the Chief Financial Officer and serve as the senior actuarial leader responsible for ensuring the long-term financial strength, solvency and sustainability of a large healthcare organization serving millions of members. This executive will oversee all actuarial functions including pricing, reserving, forecasting, valuation, capital management and risk modeling, while providing strategic guidance to executive leadership, the Board and external stakeholders. The role carries significant enterprise impact through support of a newly launched Medicare Advantage business, advancement of financial reporting and forecasting capabilities and modernization of actuarial processes through enhanced analytics, automation and data-driven decision making.
 
The ideal candidate brings 15+ years of progressive actuarial leadership experience within health insurance or managed care environments, including significant expertise across government-sponsored programs and Medicare Advantage. This leader combines deep technical knowledge in pricing, reserving, capital adequacy, risk adjustment and healthcare economics with the ability to translate complex actuarial analysis into actionable business insights. Experience leading high-performing actuarial teams, partnering closely with finance and executive leadership and navigating complex regulatory environments is essential, along with a forward-looking leadership style that challenges legacy approaches, embraces innovation and drives organizational transformation.
