Chicago, April 3rd, 2018 – Slayton Search Partners, a globally respected leader in retained executive search, has unveiled a newly designed headquarters located in downtown Chicago. Taking nine months to complete, the 12,000 square foot office was built from scratch and completely fills an entire floor of the building on South Wacker Drive.
“While Slayton’s rapid growth dictated that a new, larger office was a necessity, we determined it was also an opportunity to create a radically different environment,” said Rick Slayton, Managing Partner & CEO. “With windows wrapping around our entire floor and comfortable communal spaces, we built an elegant urban loft-style headquarters that promotes collaboration.”
The new office utilizes as much natural light as possible, as enclosed offices have transparent glass walls that allow outside views from nearly anywhere in the space. An open floor plan encourages teamwork through sharable working areas. To that end, the office’s café is a signature piece. Resembling an upscale coffee shop, the area has been a popular teamworking spot from day one.
“It was exciting to work with Slayton Search Partners on such an ambitious and unique project,” commented Amber Van Kley, Lead Designer of the project. “By using abrupt angles, a wedge-shaped floor plan, raw columns, and lots of glass, we produced a distinctive and cerebral space right in line with the company’s brand.”
Slayton Search Partners enlisted renowned workplace design firm Eastlake Studio to bring the vision for their new office into a reality. Over much of 2017, the two organizations worked closely together so that the desired aesthetic would be achieved. That included a purposeful deviation from what traditional executive search environments have seen in the past with an emphasis on tailoring the space to the preferences of a modern workforce.
