With nearly 30 years in retained executive search, John serves as Senior Managing Director and President at Slayton Search Partners, where he leads the firm’s Industrial Practice. He partners closely with manufacturing and distribution clients, including large and mid-cap public companies, privately held businesses, and private equity-backed portfolio companies. While his work spans the full executive suite, he spends the majority of his time shaping leadership teams at the highest levels, with a particular focus on P&L leaders, COOs, CFOs, CSCOs, CCOs, and their direct reports.

 

In addition to providing strategic guidance to clients on critical executive hiring needs, as Senior Managing Partner, John has overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of the firm, ensuring operational excellence and continuity across the firm. Additionally, he spearheads efforts to attract and recruit external partners, strengthening Slayton’s executive search capabilities and fostering long-term growth. Prioritizing flawless execution, both in process and quality, John and the team have contributed to positioning Slayton Search Partners as one of the most respected firms in the country.

 

Prior to Slayton, in progressively responsible Human Resources management roles, John specialized in recruiting mid- and senior-level executives at a mid-size manufacturing company, a large medical products and services company, and a mid-sized distribution company.

 

John earned a Master of Business Administration from Loyola University, Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology from Miami University, Ohio.
